going down
The checks that I've been writing for the Donna Villa are now starting to clear and my bank account is dwindling! It hurts to see the number drop. Of course, I must remember that I still have the money. The difference is that instead of it being liquid, it is in invested in property.
I don't care, it is still painful.

I'm so jealous! I want my own house in a bad sorta way, but it looks like things may start to happen. I'm so happy that you got your little villa :)
Posted by: jewdez at January 14, 2004 11:38 PMBelieve me, if you ever sell the house and have a few dollars out of that to put down on the other house you will be ALL that much happier. Plus owning something is much better. Plus its like giving youself a 15% raise. Anyways good luck, too bad we can't send a housewarming gift. I usually like to send Home Depot cards. I'm sure about the 1st month after you've owned the place, you'll get a hankering to go there. Ha ha ha...
Good luck

Hang in there. You should be far better off than paying rent in the long run. Even if the monthly payment is initially higher than what you'd pay in rent.
Might want to read "The 106 Common Mistakes Homebuyers Make (and How to Avoid Them), or "The 106 Mortgage Secrets All Homebuyers Must Learn--But Lenders Don't Tell" both by Gary W. Eldred.
It could be worse: if you paid it all at closing, you'd really feel broke. I felt a lot better dribbling it out a few hundred at a time.
