1. I have fallen in love with the British TV show Coupling. Just started watching it the other day... it is hysterical! Try to catch it if you can.
2. Cocoa the cat has been diagnosed as a diabetic. Twice a day he needs a shot of insulin. Oddly enough, it is easier to give him the shot than forcing pills down his throat.
3. I just got back from a brisk walk and I FEEL GREAT-- absolutely invigorated. I have to lose my 5lbs of winter weight. If I could only motivate myself to wake up earlier in the morning and walk, it might come off faster.
4. I finally did my wash. Which means I don't have to say my morning prayer: "Please God, please let there be a pair of clean underwear in the drawer, Please...Please... Pretty Please with cherries on top!"
5. In an effort to eradicate the constantly looping "It's a neat new trick, you know/ Pump it on your brush and GO!/ They've got the Colgate Pump!/ She's got the Colgate Pump!" I have started listening to songs that have set up residence in my head in the past and will evict the incessant Colgate jingle. Here is the playlist: The Tide is High. Something Stupid. My Baby Shot me Down. The one that really works is Renee and Renault's Save your Love... I doubt anyone has heard this schmaltzy half English - half Italian monstrosity...but just hearing a few bars of it starts me singing: Save your love my darling, save your love/ For summer nights with moon and stars above/ A serenade I long to sing you/ The reddest rose I'll always bring you/ Save your love for Roma and for me !

Thanks for the tip, Todd. It worked but it only captured the sound. I want to see the little kids dancing around... especially the tall girl in the Alice in Wonderland checked dress, she's my favorite! I feel guilty sucking up all of http://www.ugo.com's bandwidth watching it over and over again. Oh, well. I suppose this mad desire to watch an old 80's colgate commercial will pass.

Wake up all you sleepyheads, Colgate gets you out of bed! Now there's the Colgate Pump! We've got the Colgate Pump! /Scroll down to the third commerical/
This commercial infiltrated my mind as a child and through all the years since, it has never left me. The jingle is so catchy-- to this day I find myself humming or singing it-- usually just hearing sleepyhead is what sets it off. I have tried to save the file but because it is streaming, I can't seem to copy it. Any one know how I can save it on my hard drive? Let me know.

Hahaha! I got an email from a guy in the Adam Ant tribute band: Ants Invasion. When I initially posted the Adam Ant entry, (Februar 09, 2003) I never thought I would get so many responses (2). The director of Ant Muzak, a movie about "Adam and the Ants making an eventful late night shopping trip" to a grocery store, wrote me.... (Ben, I'm sorry I never acknowledged your email... I am a cold, heartless person, ask any of my (3) readers). And now, an email from a member of the Adam Ant tribute band! I think what really happened is by writing about my love of Adam Ant, I joined the global Adam Ant family!
I can't help but think back to the early 80's, when I was a wee girl, watching the Goody Two Shoes video on MTV and hoping one day, a tiny man in face paint and a pseudo-pirate outfit would be the catalyst that would propel me to doff my glasses and undo my bun....and become a super, hot, vixen-babe! I reenacted that scene many times with my Barbie dolls. Ken was too tall to be Adam so I would use either my Mork or Fonzi doll. Oh, the good ole days!
P.S. I've never doffed the bun and glasses.

The Paska recipe is WRONG!!! I apparently didn't read it through before linking to it. (Oh, the shame!) The paska we make is just homemade bread-- kinda eggy, rather dry. Although, I agree with Craig-- the sweet stuff the recipe calls for sure does sound yummy.

Went to Easter Mass this evening. It was great! The little altar boy got a bit carried away with the incense and it really smoked up the church, so much so that the smoke alarm went off. Oddly enough, Father never missed a beat and kept the service going. After mass was the blessing of the Easter basket. When I removed the blanket my mother uses to cover the basket, I found a surprise addition to the typical ham, keilbasa, paska, cheese, and pysanky-- yellow bunny PEEPS!!! My Dad threw them in without me noticing. I thought it was great and it made me laugh. During the basket blessing, my mother whispered in my ear, "Look at that man over there-- He has to weigh about 500 pounds! It must be glandular..." No Mom, it's not glandular; it's a PEEP side effect! Come Monday, I will start to diet.

The other night I couldn't sleep and so I went downstairs and watched TV. You wouldn't believe what show was broadcasting around 2:00am-- THUNDERBIRDS (are GO!). I excitedly told Lisa and Audra about catching an episode and they looked at me like I was insane, neither had a memory of this show!?! I tried to explain, "Marionette puppets in a 1960's type of future... they jetted around the world..." They think I am insane. Does anyone else remember watching this show? Maybe I am the only one.
I got a haircut yesterday. It's not short but it is shorter than how I've been wearing it. I love long hair but I find that the long hair I want (Cher circa 1974) is unattainable and mainly the reason is I don't have a live-in hairdresser. So I cut it. There is another reason for the cut. I needed to cut out a couple of situations that have occurred in my life over the past few days and there is nothing more therapeutic than taking it out in one's hair. Back in college when my old roommate suddenly turned against me, I coped by cutting off my elbow grazing hair to my ear. Memories! :-)
I got my taxes done and mailed in, just in time. Yesterday I baked a chocolate cake. I bought two more Ikea CD towers and have filled them up quickly. My room is slowly taking shape. The junk is being purged. I am still waiting on the raise my company promised me back in January. I intend to stay positive. Remind me of this statement when I start going insane in about a week. What else? nothing.

Donna and Audra meet TONY CURTIS!
Donna, Tony, and Audra
Tony really liked Audra!
Tony kisses Donna's hand!!!
I shall never wash this hand again!
By the poster of the show
In the lobby, before the show... before meeting TONY!

I was so excited, I forgot to mention on the previous entry, LARRY STORCH from F-Troop fame was also in the show. We weren't able to meet him.... mainly because we were on a Tony Curtis HIGH!

Goody Goody Gumdrops.....My heart is turning Flip Flops!

Audra and I met TONY CURTIS today!!!!
I took off work and we went to see the musical Some Like it Hot! After the show, we waited by the stage door until he emerged. Tony immediately spied us gawking and said, "My dears!" He grabbed my hand and kissed it! Tony then put his arms around us and a nice woman took our picture! It was only later that Audra told me Tony squeezed her heiny too! After the picture, Tony gave us personalized autographs*. It was thrilling and wonderful!! We walked out of the theater on a cloud of air! Scans are coming of this incredible day so everyone can share our "I'll never wash this cheek again!" moment. Of course, I am sure there are people reading this who are incredulously thinking, "But Donna, HE'S 80 YEARS OLD!" All I can say is: Nobody's perfect!

*I am not an autograph hound. I don't put value in a celebrity's signature, but it was Tony Curtis and it helped elongate our brush with him.

P.S. I think my email problem is fixed
