Hi Adrienne,

I really don't want to get into politics on this blog but I will answer your question. Why do so many people go without? It's because of cost. Getting government involved isn't going to help cost. It's their involvement over the last 50 years that has driven up the price of healthcare. My solution is to get the government out of healthcare and reduce all the regulations that drives costs up. Rather than wanting socialized medicine (or even corporate medicine), I want free market medicine. Deliver medicine like any other goods or services.

I could keep going (ex. insurance as prepaid services Vs. a measurement of risk, the true cost of "free" and the inevitable reduction of quality etc) but this isn't the forum. I only put my opinions out there because you asked. I am not trying to change people's minds politically, at least not on this blog. If you truly want to better understand the paleo-conservative viewpoint on these issues-- visit CampaignforLiberty.com or email me and I can send you some links and articles.

Curious. What is your solution to the healthcare crisis. Or do all libertarians think it's just fine and dandy that so many people here go without?
