15 across

I was doing a crossword puzzle this afternoon and one of the clues was Web Browser.
“Hmmmmm,” I thought, “Mozilla? Firefox? Opera? Netscape? Safari? Konqueror?”
I looked at the blocks and realized it was “Surfer.” I am such a nerd.

red rubber ball

There was a time Erin and I would go to nightclubs or bars. We frequented open mike events and poetry slams. We were two wild and crazy gals! This morning, we met at H-Mart and grocery shopped together. Times sure have changed.

I’m feeling tired even though I really haven’t done anything physically strenuous this weekend. Last night I pumped air into my red exercise ball. I don’t really exercise with it. Mainly I sit on it while I watch TV or I use it to stretch my back. I really wish it had handles. I want to get back into doing the Pontani Sister’s Go-Go-Aerobics. The weather keeps vacillating between rather nice and horribly freezing. When it’s nice I go for long walks but when it’s freezing, all I want to do is curl up in a ball and cover myself in a fleece blanket and not move. Exercise would be a good thing.

Baked Acorn Squash with Brown Sugar

Erin described this recipe today at the grocery store and it sounded so good, I actually bought some acorn squash. I will try it soon and update with the results.

Ingredients:

* 2 tablespoons butter –plus more for baking sheet
* 2 medium acorn squash
* 2 tablespoons light-brown sugar
* Coarse –salt and ground pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 . Generously butter a rimmed baking sheet. Halve 2 medium acorn squash (about 1 1/2 pounds each) crosswise. Scoop out seeds; discard. Slice a small piece off bottom of each squash half just enough to level.

Set squash halves, scooped sides down, on prepared sheet. Bake until golden, 20 to 25 minutes. Turn squash; prick insides all over with a fork. Divide 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons light-brown sugar among halves; season with coarse salt and ground pepper. Continue to bake until flesh is easily pierced with the tip of a paring knife, 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm.

This recipe for Baked Acorn Squash with Brown Sugar serves/makes 4.

Harlan Ellison

I found the Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) on YouTube! The entire cast was assembled for a Holiday Special where they visit Chewbacca’s family to celebrate Life Day. Bea Arthur and Harvy Corman also make special guest appearances. Skip to the end to see Han, Luke and Leia. Princess Leia even sings a song!

Audra sent me a video she found on YouTube last night, Sarah Brightman singing, I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper. The song and video were new to me but it is definitely CLASSIC! Thanks Audge!

We are out of Cremora which means I can’t have coffee. Coffee isn’t coffee without Cremora! I should get dressed and go the Grocery store. Yes, that is what I will do! I am motivated! I NEED CREMORA!

Forever Nigel

There are so many wonderful things on YouTube! I just found this video for everyone who reads my sappy entries about Geraint Wyn Davies, Forever Knight and Nigel Bennett and has always wondered what the heck it’s all about. I would have embedded the video like I did with the Monkees/Beatles mashup but this video is a little, shall we say, sexy? It’s not appropriate for children. It’s a bit gory too. But at least you can see that Geraint wasn’t always a pudgy, middle-aged “I am a PATRIOT!” traitor as he plays in 24.

And yes, the man in the middle of the video with the doughy face and crew cut is Nigel Bennett. Yes, I belonged to his fan club for far too many years. Yes, I still have the membership badge. I have stopped wearing it though.
