Tommy Roe

I awoke dizzy again this morning. The one difference is I wasn’t able to shake it as I did yesterday. Regardless, I met Audra and her mother and sister at Franklin Mills Mall and we shopped for Bridesmaid dresses. We didn’t find anything.

Tonight I am going to drink a couple glasses of water and do some stretches. Fingers crossed I will be fine tomorrow.

Womanly charms

My mojo was working last night! As I was exiting Ludwig’s, I came face to face with a man entering the bar. As we passed, I noticed he looked me up and down. He didn’t take his eyes off me until he walked smack dab into the wall.

It was gratifying.

The day started rather horribly. I stood up from bed and the room swirled around me and I fell over. The next few hours were spent trying to cure my lightheadedness. I ate some eggs and drank some coffee. Later I took a bromide and drank a tall glass of water. I watched Les Biches (Not bitches but rather deer) and by the end of this very fabulous movie, I felt fine. Barbara and George have been having some computer issues so I drove to their house and cured them of their technical ails and I even showed Barbara how to use her cell phone. After all was said and done, they took me to Coney Joe’s for Hot dogs. Very yummy except 4 hours later, I still feel full. Instead of going back to the Donnavilla I dropped in on my parents. I mentioned I wanted to go to Walgreen’s and my mom said she’d come with me. Walgreen’s is the only place I can buy Psssssst! and Queene Helene Mint Julep Mud Mask. Next to Walgreen’s is HMart where my mother shops and always finds the coolest things. I had never been there before but I will be going back. Maybe tomorrow. It’s an Asian Grocery. I bought this jar which looks like orange jelly but is actually tea! You stir a spoonful in a mug of hot water and it becomes tea! It’s so tasty! I also got ginger root so I can make Martha’s Ginger tea. I bought two pints of ice cream– red bean and green tea. I also bought a pomelo and a pound of strawberries for a buck each! Actually the pomelo may have been a buck and a quarter. I can’t wait to go back. Good stuff!

Right now I am waiting for Lisa to get ready. We’re going to the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Perfect Coffee

I need coffee. Luckily, I make a pretty good cup of joe. I use the very sensual Braun Impressions Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe.

1. Fill the carafe with hot water. This gets it hot so it doesn’t cool the coffee later when the coffee drips in.

2. I use a cone filter. Before placing in the coffee maker I fold it neatly so it sits in the coffee maker easier and I splash it with water. (Splashing it with water makes step 4 easier)

3. If I fill the coffeemaker with 4 cups of water, I use 2 spoonfuls of coffee. If I use 10 cups, then I use 5 spoonfuls of coffee mix.

4. Once the coffee is in the filter portion, I pack it *tight* with a spoon. When the coffee is just sitting there loose, the water goes through it too fast.

5. Remember to pour the hot water out of the carafe and turn on the coffeemaker.

Perfect coffee!

pizza icons

I woke up dizzy. I still feel kind of dizzy. Maybe I ate too much pizza at DeLorenzo’s? Or maybe I drank too much wine with my pizza! Framed photographs by Rick’s brother now decorate the walls of the restaurant. I found an odd kinship with the subjects, Liza Minnelli, Cher, Elton John, David Larable, Pres Bush… Apparently the only real theme is that they all at some point were on stage at the Sovereign Bank Arena.

FLASH!

I thought this was cute. Yesterday at lunch, I showed my Aunt my RAZR v3. She took one look at it and said, “It looks so futuristic, just like Flash Gordon.”

DOING IT

I am almost finished with my resume. I’m just trying to come up with any last things that I might have forgotten to mention the first time through. This is going to be such a relief when I email it off. Of course, there will be more reviews but I don’t think anything to quite this extent.

Must get back to it.

IS IT THE SAME BUG?

It just happened for the third time. I found what appears to be a billbug in my office. It is always in the same corner of the room and it just sits there doing nothing. Each time I grab a plastic cup, scoop up the bug and set it free outside. I am now wondering if it is the same billbug and he’s just laughing at my gracious nature. Perhaps I should have killed this bug and then if another one shows up I would know it wasn’t the same billbug but I have a problem killing animals. I have no problem eating already killed animals. In fact, I have no problem with veal. My thinking is, if I can eat the mommy, I can eat the baby too. The billbug is so ugly, I hate to think there is a swarm of them living in my wall. Gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it.

THE MAN-MAGNET CAKE

I’m not sure how this works… maybe if you eat a lot of it men will be attracted to you?

Ingredients for cake:

1 package yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water

Ingredients for cake filling:
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 cup finely chopped pecans
2 tablespoons of brown sugar

Ingredients for vanilla glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons warmed milk (do not boil)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl combine all cake ingredients and beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Pour about two-thirds of the batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube or bundt pan. Combine filling ingredients and sprinkle liberally over cake ingredients in pan.

Spread remaining batter over filling mixture and bake for approximately 50 minutes, until cake springs back when touched. Cool in pan for half an hour, then turn pan upside down and gently remove. Prepare vanilla glaze when ready to use by sifting powdered sugar into a bowl, then adding vanilla and heated milk. If glaze is not liquid enough to drizzle, a little more milk (up to 1 teaspoon) may be added. Drizzle vanilla glaze on top of cake, letting it drip down the sides. Stand back, and watch the men come running.
