Girly Magazine

I just read the most horrifying celebrity interview. I subscribe to Marie Claire mainly because I like their 101 ideas section. It’s a bunch of pictures of pretty outfits. I know, how silly, but I love it. So I am reading Marie Claire and there is an interview with Charlize Theron. Here are a few excerpts:

The cornerstone of Theron’s confidence has long been a relationship with her mother, Gerda… They’ve enjoyed a closeness that wasn’t hindered by the strict punishments Gerda used to keep her daughter in line…. What did Theron’s mother hit her with? “Whatever was around: a hairbrush, a shoe- the shoe was a big one,” Theron says… “I went to school with imprints of Disney cartoons all over my thigh from a hanger that she had grabbed that had all these cutouts on them.”

WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!

Their closeness endured after Gerda, in self-defence, shot her husband to death in front of 15-year-old Charlize’s eyes.

What in the world!?!?

Bristol Stomp

The pizza last night was so good. I am happy it’s Friday. Tomorrow I think Lisa and I are going back to Rosemont for Oktoberfest. It’s not actually Oktoberfest with beer and wursts but more of a flea market type of event. Then I am thinking maybe we will go to Bryn Mawr’s campus and see if they still have that Labyrinth. I think it was paved over years ago but I want to check. Later we will do the CBA Amphitheater.

I do have a major problem. I am a Bristol girl yet I don’t know how to do the Bristol Stomp! I assume stomping is involved but I am sure there is much more to it. Does anyone know how to Bristol Stomp?

The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol
When they do the Bristol Stomp
Really somethin when they join in jumpin
When they do the Bristol Stomp

Too bad the lyrics aren’t: The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol/ When they do the Hully Gully. I can do that one.

I found it!

I found my journal. It was wedged in the top drawer of my bedside table. What a relief although I knew I hadn’t left it in Chicago or taken it anywhere.

Cancer sucks

My coffee is brewing. Last night I couldn’t find my analog journal. I tore up my office, bedroom and bathroom looking for it. I know it’s here somewhere, but where? I once wrote in it every night; now I only write when it’s something that I want to keep private. It’ll pop up, I’m sure.

Coffee tastes so much better when the temperature is cool. Once I am done sipping, I will walk to my mailbox and mail my Maker’s Mark Ambassador card that John Beck gave to me as well as the Thank you note I wrote to Joe and Judy.

Yesterday I received an email from the Amazon Marketplace seller that I bought the Emma Peel megabox set from and she said she just received the Amazon email 2 days late and will speedy deliver it to me ASAP. I wish it could just materialize in my hands. I feel all Emma Peel tingly inside.

It is so important that this weekend Lisa and I visit Joe and Judy. We’ve been busy and haven’t visited. Judy, I am sure, thinks it’s because we can’t handle seeing her bald and weak. That’s not true! We are just self-centered!

Can you believe my old college roommate still hasn’t responded to either email I sent inviting her to meet me at Rosemont College’s Oktoberfest? Maybe she finally remembered why we stopped speaking back in 1995? I have her phone number. I could just give her a call. But what if she is purposely ignoring my emails? I don’t want to pursue her. Ugh, I HATE being friendly.

Junk

We watched a little bit of America’s Top Model. I thought models were supposed to be pretty. And why don’t they smile? I always smile when I get my picture taken. Lisa flipped channels and we watched a documentary on crabs. Lisa got really upset when they showed the crabs crossing a road and a tractor drove by and smashed a bunch of them. “I just saw them shake their eggs into the Caribbean and now they die!?! Nooooooo!” A few minutes went by and she said, “This documentary is making me hungry for crabs. When can we go to Gunnings?”

Good news! Audra’s present should arrive October 4th. At least that’s what the UPS Tracking page is telling me. I won’t believe it until I see it sitting on my doorstep.

I was playing with my new SpyCam earlier and I got it to follow me and zoom in. It’s pretty cool. The only thing I don’t like is that the software isn’t as full featured as the software that came with my older model. Oh well.

Can it be that tomorrow is Thursday? That means DeLorenzo’s for pizza! I can’t wait! It feels as if I haven’t been there in weeks. Actually, that’s true. Last week I was in Chicago.

I am so close to finished with the Mike Nesmith hat I am knitting. All I need to do is find some white buttons. I plan on raiding my mom’s junk drawer tomorrow after DeLorenzo’s. She definitely has buttons.
